ARGUMENTS IN FAVOUR OF THE “IZOVOL” MATERIAL

By their characteristics, the “IZOVOL” plates are surpassing the best heat-insulating materials introduced in the building market. A unique super-pure technology of producing the basalt fibers under the «IZOVOL®» brand name – the “EcoSafe” technology – has no analogues in Russia!

It is precisely the stable high quality of the “IZOVOL” that was regarded as of paramount importance when choosing our suppliers, the engineers for developing equipment for a new production line and (above all!) melting facilities.

When manufacturing the «IZOVOL» rock-wool, blast-furnace slags are not used!

In cooperation with leading foreign experts, the specialists of the Belgorod Integrated Works of Heat-Insulating Materials (“BKTM”) have selected (modeled) a fiber composition which permits to increase and to stabilize an acidity modulus value. Thus, the standard deviation from an ideal acidity modulus is at the minimum, its indices being within the limits of 2.13 through 2.24, in contrast to other producers whose acidity modulus has a greater range of changes (1.2 through 9.0) which has a negative influence upon the service life.

Using in the technology of the «IZOVOL» production the unique melting facility (the coke is excluded completely!!!)

of a special design ensures the highest melt quality at the expense of its stable viscosity and flow, of maintaining a constant melt temperature which allows to manufacture the «IZOVOL» products with higher stable physical & mechanical properties and, for all this, with optimal indices of heat conduction ensuring a maximum functional efficiency, safety, reliability and durability of the finished products.

The consumers of the «IZOVOL» material can be assured that the latter will not loose its service properties for a long period of time. The use of blast-furnace slags and coke being not required by the production technology itself, ecological purity and safety of the «IZOVOL» product, its higher physical & mechanical characteristics are ensured which were appreciated at their true value by the consumers from Russia, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran (Nuclear Power Station at Busher).

A stable high quality of the «IZOVOL» product is guaranteed by a multi-level system of its control (EN ISO 9001:2000).

The BKTM Works is the first Russian manufacturer which has proposed the consumers the «IZOVOL» plates of the ĘÂ brand - «the roof top» - sized 1200 ő 1000 mm, 30 mm thick with an increased rigidity and moisture resistance for laying the flat roofs. The plates are fabricated with a density of 150, 175, 200 kg/m3. Manufacturing plates sized 1200 ő 2000 mm is also possible. The use of such plates in the roof warmth-keeping systems allows to substantially save money for 1 m2 of a roofing “pie”.

A mean statistical value of the compression strength index at a deformation of the «IZOVOL» plates equal to 10%, their brands being ĘÂ-150, ĘÂ-175 and ĘÂ-200, with a thickness of 30 mm, constitutes 75, 90 and 100 kPa, correspondingly.

At present, as an upper layer of a roofing “pie”, along with the «IZOVOL» product of the KB brand having a density of 175 and 200 kg/m3, the «IZOVOL» plates of the KB brand having a density of 150 kg/m3 are successfully utilized.

An example: If the KB-150 brand is used instead of KB-175 brand as an upper layer, the Consumer is saving about RUR1,000.00 for each one square meter of the material; above this, the weight of a construction and labor input for laying the roofs are decreased considerably (at a project having the roof surface area equal to 10,000 m2, and an upper layer 40 mm thick, one can save above RUR400,000.00 on the material alone).

It goes without saying that a calculation is to be made in each separate case but, in practice, each second warmth-keeping version presupposes an effective and reasonable use of the high-quality warmth-keeping «IZOVOL» material with a lesser density than is proposed by other producers. If you compare the indices of the “IZOVOL” plate brands and those of other producers’ brands of the same density, the physical & mechanical figures of the “IZOVOL” would be always higher.

For the plastered façade systems, strict warmth-keeping demands have been elaborated. These are the layer bear-away strength equaling to 15 kPa and the compression strength equaling to 45 kPa at a linear deformation of 10%. While choosing heat-insulation for the outside plastered layer systems, a stable high acidity modulus and a high water vapor permeability are important. The BKTM Works is proposing the Ô (F) brand having a density of 150 kg/m3 as a heat-, sound- and fire-proof insulation of the outside walls of the buildings and structures for various purposes with plastering above a reinforcing glass-net.

A mean statistical value of the layer bear-away strength index of the “IZOVOL” Ô (F) brand constitutes 22.39 kPa which is by 49% higher than a criterion established.

A mean statistical value of the compression strength at a linear deformation of 10% is equal to 83.20 kPa which is by 90% higher than an index established; the compression strength at a linear deformation of 10% after a sorption humidification is equal to 73.49 kPa which is by 63% higher than an index established. The increased physical & mechanical characteristics of the Ô(F)-150 brand confirm an enormous potential of the “IZOVOL” plates. For the plastered façades with a reinforcing metal net, an Ô(F) brand having a density of 100 kg/m3 was elaborated permitting to save up to 43% of the cost of production when making the facades of the type under consideration.

For the ventilated façade systems, brands Ńň of the “IZOVOL” plates with densities of 75 and 90 kg/m3 have been elaborated. Manufacturing plates pasted with black or white glass-canvas, their brand B having a density of 75 and 90 kg/m3 is also possible.

The «IZOVOL» plates of all the brands belong to an incombustible material category (HĂ inflammability group) which is confirmed by necessary certificates in full.

Owing to the successful application of a special glass canvas, a certificate of fireproofness for the plates pasted with a glass-canvas (HĂ inflammability group).

The «IZOVOL» products have obtained a well-deserved recognition of experts and consumers of the branch at international and inter-regional exhibitions. The «IZOVOL» products have been certified and approved for use by the State Committee for Building and Construction of the Russian Federation (a technical certificate (ŇŃ No. 2188-08)).
